પ્રભુ યિશુનો દરબાર ૨૪ જાન્યુઆરી ૨૦૧૮

મેથ્યુ અધ્યાય ૨૪ (Matthew 24

1 ઈસુએ મંદિર છોડયું અને જતો હતો, ત્યારે શિષ્યો તેની પાસે આવ્યા. તેઓ તેને મંદિર બતાવવા લાગ્યા.

1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.

2 ઈસુએ કહ્યું, “તમે આ બધું જુઓ છો? હું તમને સત્ય કહું છું, આ બધું તોડી પાડવામાં આવશે.એક પથ્થર પર બીજો પથ્થર રહેવા દેવાશે નહિ. અને એક એક પથ્થરને જમીનદોસ્ત કરવામાં આવશે.” (આ ભવિશ્યવાણી સત્ય થૈ છે, તે મંદિર આજે ખંડેર હાલતમાં છે)

2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

3 પછી ઈસુ જૈતૂન પર્વત પર બેઠો હતો ત્યારે શિષ્યો તેની સાથે એકાંત માટે આવ્યા અને પૂછયું એ બધું ક્યારે બનશે? અને “અમને કહે કે તારા આગમનની અને જગતના અંતની નિશાનીઓ શું હશે?”

3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

4 ઈસુએ કહ્યું, “સાવધાન રહો! તમને કોઈ ગેરમાર્ગે ન દોરે.

4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

5 ઘણા લોકો આવશે અને મારા નામનો ઉપયોગ કરશે અને કહેશે, ‘હું જ ખ્રિસ્ત છું.’ અને તેઓ ઘણા લોકોને છેતરશે.

5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

6 પણ તમે લડાઈઓ વિષે અને લડાઈઓની અફવાઓ વિષે સાંભળશો ત્યારે તમે ગભરાશો નહિ. એ બધું જ અંત પહેલા થવાનું છે અને ભબિષ્યનો અંત હજી બાકી છે.

6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

7 રાષ્ટ્ર બીજા રાષ્ટ્રોની સામે અને રાજ્યો બીજા રાજ્યોની વિરૂદ્ધ ઊઠશે. અને એક સમય એવો આવશે કે લોકોને ખાવા માટે ખોરાક પણ નહિ હોય અને જુદા જુદા વિસ્તારોમાં ધરતીકંપ થશે.

7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

8 પણ એ બધાં તો દુ:ખોનો આરંભ જ છે.

8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9 “આ સમયે તમને શિક્ષા કરવા માટે સોંપી દેવામાં આવશે અને તમને મારી નાંખશે કારણ કે તમે મારા શિષ્યો છો. બધા જ રાષ્ટ્રો તમારો તિરસ્કાર કરશે.

9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.

 

10 ; ત્યારે ઘણા અત્યાચાર થશે, અને લોકો એકબીજાને છેતરશે, અને નફરત કરશે.

10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

11 અનેક જૂઠા પ્રબોધકો (બાબાઓ, પંથો) નીકળી પડશે અને તેઓ ઘણાને આડે માર્ગે દોરી જશે.

11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

12 સર્વત્ર અનિષ્ટ પ્રસરશે. પરિણામે ઘણાનો પ્રેમ ઠંડો પડી જશે.

12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

 

13 : પરંતુ જે અંત સુધી (મારામાં) ધિરજ રાખશે, એ જ બચી જશે. (મોક્ષ પામશે)

13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

14  સ્વર્ગના રાજ્યની સુવાર્તા આખા વિશ્વમાં બધી જ જાતિના લોકોને સંભળાવવામાં આવશે. ત્યાર બાદ જ અંત આવશે.

14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

15 “જેના વિષે દાનિયેલ પ્રબોધકે કહેલું છે કે, ‘એ ભયાનક વિનાશકારી વસ્તુને તમે પવિત્ર જગ્યામાં (યરૂશલેમના મંદિરમાં) ઊભેલી જુઓ.” (વાંચક તેનો અર્થ સમજી લે)

15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

16 “ત્યારે જેઓ યહૂદિયામાં રહે છે તેઓને પહાડો તરફ ભાગી જવું પડશે.

16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

17 જેઓ ઘરના છાપરાં પર હોય તેઓએ ઘરમાં સરસામાન લેવા જવું નહિ.

17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

18 જેઓ ખેતરોમાં હોય તેમણે પોતાના કપડાં લેવા પાછા ઘરે જવું નહિ.

18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

19 “એ દિવસોમાં જે ગર્ભવતી હશે, અને જેને ધાવણાં બાળકો હશે તેમને માટે હાય  (દુ:ખદાયક દિવસ હશે).

19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

20 પ્રાર્થના કરો કે તમારે શિયાળાનાં દિવસોમાં કે વિશ્રામવારે ભાગવું ના પડે.

20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

21 એ દિવસોમાં એવી મોટી આપત્તિ આવશે કે સૃષ્ટિ રચી ત્યારથી અત્યાર સુધી કદી આવી નથી. અને ભવિષ્યમાં એવી આપત્તિ આવશે નહિ.

21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

22 “આ ભયંકર આપત્તિના દિવસો લોકોને ખાતર ઘટાડવામાં આવશે. જો તેમ ન થયું હોત તો કોઈ માણસ બચી શકત નહિ. પરંતુ દેવના પસંદ કરાયેલા માણસો માટે જ આ દિવસો ઘટાડવામાં આવશે.

22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

23 “ત્યારે તમને જો કોઈ કહે કે જુઓ, અહીં ‘ખ્રિસ્ત’ છે અથવા તે અહીં છે તો તેનો વિશ્વાસ કરશો નહિ.

23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.

24 કેમ કે જૂઠા ખ્રિસ્ત તથા જૂઠા પ્રબોધકો ઊભા થશે. અને એવા અદભૂત ચમત્કારો તથા અદભૂત કૃત્યો કરી બતાવશે કે જો બની શકે તો દેવના પસંદ કરેલા લોકોને (ખ્રિસ્તીઓને) પણ તેઓ ભ્રમમાં નાંખશે.

24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

25 જુઓ, આ વાત હું તમને અગાઉથી બાતાવું છું માટે સાવધ રહેજો. (આજે સત્ય છે)

25 Behold, I have told you before.

26 “તેથી કોઈ તમને કહે; ‘ખ્રિસ્ત પેલી ઉજજડ ભૂમીમાં છે!’ પણ તે ઉજજડ પ્રદેશમાં ખ્રિસ્તને જોવા જશો નહિ. કોઈ કહે, ‘ખ્રિસ્ત અમુક ઘરમાં છે તો તે તમે માનશો નહિ.

26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

27 જ્યારે માણસનો દીકરો આવશે ત્યારે આકાશમાં પૂર્વથી પશ્ર્ચિમે ઝબકારા જેવું થશે જે દરેક માણસ જોઈ શકશે. તે પ્રમાણે માણસનો દીકરો પ્રગટ થશે.

27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

28 જ્યાં મડદાં હશે, ત્યાં ગીધો ભેગાં થશે.

28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

29 “એ દિવસોમાં જ્યારે વિપત્તિ દૂર થશે કે તરત જ: ‘સૂરજ અંધકારરૂપ થઈ જશે, અને ચંદ્ર તેનું અજવાળું આપશે નહિ. અને તારાઓ આકાશમાંથી ખરી પડશે. આકાશમાં બધુંજ ઘ્રુંજી ઊઠશે.’ યશાયા

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

30 એ સમયે, માણસના દીકરા (ઇસા)ના આવવાના સંકેત આકાશમાં જોવા મળશે, તે વખતે પૃથ્વી પરના બધાજ લોકો વિલાપ કરશે અને માણસના દીકરાને પરાક્રમ અને મોટા મહિમાસહિત આકાશના વાદળોમાં આવતો જોશે.

30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

31 માણસનો દીકરો પોતાના દૂતોને પૃથ્વીની ચારે બાજુ મોકલવા મોટા અવાજથી રણશિંગડું ફૂંકશે. દૂતો પૃથ્વીના દરેક ભાગમાંથી પસંદ કરેલા માણસોને ભેગા કરશે.

31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

32 “અંજીર પરથી બોધપાઠ લો, જ્યારે તેની ડાળી કુમળી હોય છે અને પાંદડાં ફૂટવા લાગે છે ત્યારે તમે સમજી શકો છો કે ઉનાળો પાસે આવ્યો છે.

32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

33 તે જ પ્રમાણે, જ્યારે તમે આ બધા જ બનાવો બનતા જુઓ, ત્યારે જાણી લેવું કે એ સમય નજીક આવી રહ્યો છે અને આવવાની તૈયારી છે.

33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

34 હું તમને સત્ય કહું છું કે આ પેઢીનાં લોકોના જીવતાં જ આ બધી જ ઘટના બનશે.

34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

35 આખી દુનિયા, પૃથ્વી અને આકાશનો નાશ થશે, પણ મારા શબ્દોનો કદી વિનાશ નહિ થાય!

35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

36 “પણ એ દિવસ અને કલાક વિષે કોઈ જાણતું નથી. આકાશના દૂતો કે માણસનો દીકરો (ઇસા પોતે), કોઈ જાણતું નથી. ફક્ત તે દેવ એ જ જાણે છે.

36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

37 “નૂહના સમયમાં બન્યું  હતું એવું જ માણસના દીકરા(ઇસા)ના આગમન સમયે બનશે.

37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

38 જળપ્રલય થયો તે પહેલા લોકો ઉજાણી માણતા હતા અને પરણાવતા હતા, આ બધુજ નૂહ વહાણ પર ન ચઢયો ત્યાં સુધી બનતું રહ્યું.

38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

39 જળપ્રલય થયો અને બધાને તાણીને લઈ ગયો, ત્યાં સુધી ખબર ન પડી, માણસના દીકરાને આવવાનું થશે, ત્યારે આવું જ બનશે.

39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

40 એ સમયે ખેતરમાં કામ કરતાં બે માણસોમાંથી એકને ઉઠાવી લેવાશે અને બીજો ત્યાં જ છોડી દેવાશે.

40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

41 આ સમયે ઘંટી ચલાવતી બે સ્ત્રીઓમાંથી એક સ્ત્રીને ત્યાંથી ઊઠાવી લેવામાં આવશે અને બીજીને ત્યાંજ પાછળ રહેવા દેવામાં આવશે.

41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

42 “એટલે તમે લોકો સાવધ રહો, કારણ કે તમારો પ્રભુ ક્યારે આવે છે તે તમે જાણતા નથી.

42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

43 યાદ રાખો કે, જો ઘરના ધણીએ જાણ્યું હોત કે ચોર ક્યા સમયે આવશે તો તે ઘણી સજાગ રહેત અને ચોરને ઘરમાં પ્રવેશ કરવા ન દેત.

43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

44 એટલે તમારે પણ તૈયાર રહેવું જોઈએ કારણ માણસનો દીકરો (ઇસા મસિહ) ગમે તે સમયે આવશે, જ્યારે તમને ખબર પણ નહિ પડે.

44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

45 “ધણી પોતાના ઘરના સર્વને નિયત સમયે ખાવાનું આપવા જેને પોતાના ઘરના સેવકો પર અધિકારી નીમે છે એવો શાણો અને વિશ્વાસુ સેવક કોણ છે?

45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

46 ધણી જ્યારે આવે ત્યારે જે સેવક (ખ્રિસ્તી ભરવાડ) આ કામ કરતો દેખાશે તે માણસ (ખ્રિસ્તી ભરવાડ) સુખી થશે.

46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

47 હું તમને સત્ય કહું છું. એવા વફાદાર માણસ(ખ્રિસ્તી ભરવાડ)ને ધણી પોતાની તમામ મિલ્કતનો કારભારી બનાવશે.

47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.

48 “પણ જો નોકર(ખ્રિસ્તી ભરવાડ) દુષ્ટ હશે અને વિચારશે કે મારા ધણી હમણા તરત જ પાછા નથી આવવાના.

48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;

49 પછી તે પોતાના સાથીદાર સેવકોને મારપીટ કરશે. અને તે સેવક(ખ્રિસ્તી ભરવાડ) બીજા લોકો સાથે તેની જેમ ખાવા પીવા લાગશે.

49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;

50 પણ તે ચાકરનો ધણી(ઇસામસિહ) એવો ઓચિંતો આવી પહોંચશે કે તેને તે દિવસની કદી આશા નહિં હોય અને તે સમય વિષે તે જાણતો નહિ હોય.

50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,

51 એનો સ્વામી એને ખરાબ રીતે સજા કરશે અને ઢોંગીઓ વચ્ચે તેનું સ્થાન નિશ્ર્ચિત કરશે. જ્યાં લોકો રૂદન કરતાં હશે. દુ:ખની પીડાથી દાંત પીસતાં થશે.

51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

નિર્ગમન અધ્યાય ૧૩ (Exodus 13

1 પછી યહોવાએ મૂસાને કહ્યું,

1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

2 “પ્રત્યેક ઇસ્રાએલીઓએ તેમનાં બધાં જ પ્રથમજનિત બાળકો મને સમર્પિત કરવાં. હવે ઇસ્રાએલીઓમાં જે કોઈ પ્રથમ પ્રસવનું હોય, પછી તે માંણસ હોય કે પશુ હોય તે માંરું ગણાશે.”

2 Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.

3 મૂસાએ લોકોને કહ્યું, “તમે આ દિવસને યાદ રાખજો, જે દિવસે તમે મિસરમાંથી ગુલામીના દેશમાંથી બહાર નીકળ્યા છો, યહોવાએ પોતાના બાહુબળથી બહાર લાવ્યા છે, તેથી કોઈ પણ ખમીરવાળી વસ્તુ ખાશો નહિ.

3 And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place: there shall no leavened bread be eaten.

4 આજે તમે આબીબ મહિનામાં નીકળ્યાં છો.

4 This day came ye out in the month Abib.

5 અને જ્યારે યહોવા તમને કનાનીઓ, હિત્તીઓ, અમોરીઓ, હિવ્વીઓ, અને યબૂસીઓના દેશમાં લઈ જાય-તેણે તમાંરા પિતૃઓને જે દેશ તમને આપવાનું વચન આપ્યું હતું અને જયાં દૂધ અને મધની રેલછેલ છે, ત્યાં લઈ જાય, ત્યારે તમાંરે ઉપાસના આ માંસમાં કરવાની છે.

5 And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month.

6 “સાત દિવસ સુધી તમે ખમીર વગરની રોટલી ખાજો. સાતમે દિવસે એક મોટો ભોજન સમાંરંભ થશે, એ ઉત્સવ યહોવાના સન્માંનમાં યોજાશે.

6 Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to the LORD.

7 તેથી સાત દિવસ સુધી તમાંરે ખમીર વગરની જ રોટલી ખાવી. તમાંરા આખા પ્રદેશમાં ક્યાંય પણ ખમીરવાળી રોટલી બિલકુલ હોવી જોઈએ નહિ.

7 Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee in all thy quarters.

8 તે દિવસે તમાંરે તમાંરાં બાળકોને કહેવું કે, ‘અને મિસરમાંથી બહાર લાવ્યા ત્યારે યહોવાએ અમાંરા માંટે જે કર્યુ હતું તે માંટે અમે આ ઉત્સવ ઉજવી રહ્યાં છીએ.’

8 And thou shalt shew thy son in that day, saying, This is done because of that which the LORD did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt.

9 “અને આ ઉત્સવ તમાંરા હાથ પરના એંધાણી અને તમાંરા કપાળ પરના સ્મરણચિહ્ન જેવા બનીને રહેશે, તે તમાંરી આંખો સામે એક ચિહ્ન તરીકે રહેશે, આ પર્વ તમને યહોવાનો ઉપદેશ યાદ રખાવશે. તે તમને યાદ રખાવશે કે યહોવા તેમની મહાન શક્તિથી તમને મિસરમાંથી બહાર લઈ આવ્યા હતા.

9 And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the LORD’s law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt.

10 એટલા માંટે તમાંરે આ ઉત્સવ દર વર્ષે નિયત સમયે યાદ કરીને પાળવો.

10 Thou shalt therefore keep this ordinance in his season from year to year.

11 “યહોવા તમને અને તમાંરા વડવાઓને વચન આપ્યા પ્રમાંણે તમને કનાનીઓના દેશમાં લઈ જશે અને દેવ તે દેશ તમને તમાંરા પિતૃઓને આપેલ વચન મુજબ આપશે.

11 And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, as he sware unto thee and to thy fathers, and shall give it thee,

12 જ્યારે તમને દેવ આ પ્રદેશ આપે ત્યાર બાદ તમે બધા તમાંરા પ્રથમજનિત પુત્રને યહોવાને સમર્પિત કરવાનું યાદ રાખજો. અને તમાંરાં પશુઓનાં પ્રથમ વેતરનાં બધાં નર બચ્ચાઓ યહોવાને સમર્પિત થવા જોઈએ.

12 That thou shalt set apart unto the LORD all that openeth the matrix, and every firstling that cometh of a beast which thou hast; the males shall be the LORD’s.

13 પ્રત્યેક ગધેડાંનું પ્રથમ બચ્ચુ તેની જગ્યામાં એક હલવાન અર્પણ કરીને, યહોવા પાસેથી પાછું મેળવી શકાય છે. તમે લોકો જો ન છોડાવો તો તમાંરે તેની ડોકી ભાંગી નાખવી. તે ભોગ બનશે. તમાંરે પ્રત્યેક પ્રથમ જન્મેલો નર સંતાન દેવ પાસેથી પાછો ખરીદવાનો છે.

13 And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break his neck: and all the firstborn of man among thy children shalt thou redeem.

14 “ભવિષ્યમાં તમાંરાં બાળકો કદાચ પૂછશે કે, ‘આનો અર્થ શો? તમે આ કેમ કરો છો?’ ત્યારે તમાંરે કહેવું કે, ‘પોતાના બાહુબળથી યહોવા અમને મિસરમાંથી ગુલામીના દેશમાંથી બહાર કાઢી લાવ્યા હતા.

14 And it shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage:

15 ફારુન હઠે ચડયો હતો, તેથી તેણે અમને બહાર જવા દેવાની ના પાડી, ત્યારે યહોવાએ મિસર દેશનાં બધાં પ્રથમ જન્મેલાં સંતાનોને, માંણસનાં અને ઢોરનાં બંનેનાં પહેલાં સંતાનોને માંરી નાંખ્યાં હતાં, તેથી અમે પ્રથમજનિત બધાં નર પશુઓ યહોવાને અર્પણ કરીએ છીએ, પણ અમાંરા પુત્રોમાંના અર્પણ કરેલા સર્વ પ્રથમજનિતોને અમે નાણાં આપીને છોડાવીએ છીએ.’

15 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that the LORD slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of beast: therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all that openeth the matrix, being males; but all the firstborn of my children I redeem.

16 અને એ ઉત્સવ તમાંરા હાથ પર ચિહનરૂપ તથા તમાંરી આંખોની વચ્ચે કપાળ પર ચાંદરૂપ બની રહેશે; કારણ કે યહોવા આપણને પોતાના બાહુબળથી મિસરની બહાર લઈ આવ્યા હતા એની એ સ્મૃતિ બની રહેશે.”

16 And it shall be for a token upon thine hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes: for by strength of hand the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt.

17 જ્યારે ફારુને લોકોને જવા દીઘા ત્યારે એમ બન્યું કે યહોવા તેમને પલિસ્તીઓના દેશમાં થઈને જવાનો રસ્તો ટૂંકો હોવા છતાં તે રસ્તે તેમને લઈ ગયા નહિ. કારણ કે યહોવાએ વિચાર્યુ કે, “જો યુદ્ધ થાય તો કદાચ લોકો પોતાનો વિચાર બદલી પાછા મિસર ચાલ્યા જાય.”

17 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:

18 એટલે યહોવા તેમને બીજા રસ્તેથી લઈ ગયા. રેતીના રણપ્રદેશને રસ્તે રાતા સમુદ્ર તરફ દેવ તેમને લઈ ગયા. મિસર છોડ્યું ત્યારે ઇસ્રાએલ પુત્રો શસ્ત્રસજજ હતા.

18 But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt.

19 મૂસાએ યૂસફનાં હાડકાં સાથે લઈ લીધાં હતાં. યૂસફે ઇસ્રાએલ પુત્રોની પાસે એના માંટે આ કરવા સમ લેવડાવ્યા એમ કહેતા, “યહોવા જરૂર તમાંરી મદદ કરવા આવશે, તે સમયે તમે માંરાં હાડકા અહીંથી લઈ જજો.”

19 And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.

20 પછી ઇસ્રાએલી લોકોએ સુક્કોથ નગર છોડયું અને રણની સરહદ પર એથામમાં મુકામ કર્યો.

20 And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness.

21 તેઓને દિવસે રસ્તો બતાવવા માંટે યહોવા વાદળના થાંભલા રૂપે આગળ આગળ ચાલતા તેમજ રાત્રે તેમને પ્રકાશ મળે તેથી અગ્નિસ્તંભરૂપે ચાલતા. જેથી તેઓ સતત રાતદિવસ યાત્રા કરી શકતા હતા.

21 And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

22 એક ઊંચા વાદળના સ્તંભરૂપે દિવસે અને અગ્નિસ્તંભ તરીકે રાત્રે સતત યહોવા તેમની સાથે રહ્યાં. તેમની આગળથી જરા પણ ખસ્યા નહિ.

22 He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.

નિર્ગમન અધ્યાય ૧૪ (Exodus 14

1 પછી યહોવાએ મૂસાને કહ્યું,

1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

2 “તમે ઇસ્રાએલના લોકોને કહો કે, પાછા ફરીને પીહાહીરોથની આગળ, મિગ્દોલ અને લાલસમુદ્રની વચ્ચે બાલ-સફોનની આગળ મુકામ કરે, અને તમાંરે એ જગ્યાની બરાબર સામે સમુદ્રને કિનારે મુકામ કરવો.

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baalzephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea.

3 ફારુન વિચારશે કે, “ઇસ્રાએલીઓ રણપ્રદેશમાં ભૂલા પડી ગયા છે અને રણ એમને ઘેરી વળ્યું છે.”

3 For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.

4 હું ફારુનને હઠે ચઢાવીશ જેથી તે તમાંરો પીછો કરશે અને તેના લશ્કરનો પરાજય કરીને હું માંરો મહિમાં વધારીશ. ત્યારે મિસરવાસીઓ જાણશે કે, હું યહોવા છું.” અને ઇસ્રાએલીઓએ એ મુજબ કર્યુ.

4 And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.

5 જ્યારે ફારુનને ખબર આપવામાં આવી કે, ઇસ્રાએલના લોકો ભાગી ગયા છે. ત્યારે તેનું અને તેના અમલદારોનું વલણ બદલાઈ ગયું. તેમણે કહ્યું આપણે શું કર્યુ, “ઇસ્રાએલીઓને આપણે જવા કેમ દીધાં? આપણે આપણા ચાકરોને ગુમાંવ્યા છે.”

5 And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?

6 એટલે ફારુને પોતાનો રથ તૈયાર કર્યો અને પોતાનું લશ્કર ભેગું કર્યુ.

6 And he made ready his chariot, and took his people with him:

7 ફારુને પોતાના લોકોમાંથી 600 સૌથી શ્રેષ્ઠ સેનાનીઓને અને તેના બધાં રથો તેની સાથે લીધા. પ્રત્યેક રથમાં એક અમલદાર હતો.

7 And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them.

8 અને યહોવાએ મિસરના રાજા ફારુનને હિંમતવાન બનાવ્યો, તેથી તે ઇસ્રાએલી લોકોની પાછળ પડ્યો જે પોતાના હાથ ઉચા કરી નીકળી રહ્યાં હતા.

8 And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand.

9 મિસરના લશ્કરમાં અસંખ્ય ઘોડા, સૈનિકો અને રથો હતા. તે બધાએ એટલે કે ઘોડેસવારોએ તથા રથ સવારોએ તથા સૈનિકોએ ઇસ્રાએલીઓનો પીછો પકડયો. અને તેઓ બાલસફોનની આગળ પીહાહીરોથની પાસે સમુદ્ર કિનારે પડાવ નાખીને રહ્યા હતા ત્યાં તેમને પકડી પાડ્યા.

9 But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.

10 જે સમયે ફારુન તેમની નજીક આવી પહોંચ્યો, તે સમયે ઇસ્રાએલીઓએ નજર કરીને જોયું તો ખબર પડી કે તેમની પાછળ મિસરીઓ પડ્યા છે! ત્યારે તેઓ ખૂબ ભયભીત થયા અને સહાય માંટે યહોવાને પોકાર કર્યો.

10 And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.

11 તેમણે મૂસાને કહ્યું, “તમે અમને મિસરમાંથી બહાર શા માંટે લાવ્યા? શું મિસરમાં કબરો નથી? તમે અમને આ રણપ્રદેશમાં મરવા શા માંટે લાવ્યા? અમે લોકો મિસરમાં શાંતિપૂર્વક મૃત્યુ પામત, મિસરમાં ઘણી કબરો હતી.

11 And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?

12 અમે લોકોએ મિસરમાં જ તમને નહોતું કહ્યું કે, ‘અમને લોકોને અમે જેમ છીએ તેમ રહેવા દો, મિસરવાસીઓની સેવા કરવા દો? આ રણપ્રદેશમાં મરવું તેના કરતાં મિસરવાસીઓની ગુલામી કરવી વધારે સારી છે.”

12 Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

13 પરંતુ મૂસાએ લોકોને ઉત્તર આપ્યો, “ગભરાશો નહિ, ભાગો નહિ, મક્કમ રહો, ને થોડી વાર ઊભા રહો અને જુઓ કે આજે યહોવા તમાંરા લોકોનો શી રીતે ઉદ્ધાર કરે છે! આજ પછી તમે આ મિસરવાસીઓને ફરી કયારેય જોશો નહિ.

13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

14 તમાંરે લોકોએ શાંત રહેવા સિવાય બીજું કાંઈ કરવાનું નથી. યહોવા તમાંરા માંટે લડતા રહેશે.”

14 The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

15 પછી યહોવાએ મૂસાને કહ્યું, “તું મને શા માંટે પોકાર કરે છે? ઇસ્રાએલના લોકોને આગળ વધવા માંટે આજ્ઞા કર.

15 And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:

16 તું તારી લાકડીને રાતા સમુદ્ર ઉપર ઉઠાવી, હાથ લાંબો કર. સમુદ્રના બે ભાગ થઈ જશે. જેથી ઇસ્રાએલના લોકો સૂકી જમીન પર થઈને સમુદ્ર પાર કરશે.

16 But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

17 પછી હું મિસરવાસીઓને હિંમતવાન બનાવીશ એટલે તેઓ તમને સમુદ્રમાં હાકી કાઢશે. અને ફારુન તથા તેની આખી સેના, તેના રથો અને તેના ઘોડેસવારોને હરાવીશ અને તેઓ મને માંન આપે તેમ કરીશ.

17 And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: and I will get me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

18 એટલે મિસરવાસીઓને ખબર પડશે કે હું યહોવા છું. અને જ્યારે હું ફારુન, તેના ઘોડેસવારો અને રથપતિઓને હરાવીશ ત્યારે તેઓ માંરું સન્માંન કરશે.”

18 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I have gotten me honour upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

19 પછી ઇસ્રાએલી લોકોના સૈન્યની આગળ ચાલતો યહોવાનો દૂત ત્યાંથી ખસીને તેની પાછળ ચાલ્યો ગયો, તેથી મેધસ્તંભ તેમની આગળથી ખસીને તેમની પાછળ ઊભો રહ્યો;

19 And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:

20 આ રીતે વાદળા મિસરીઓના સૈન્ય અને ઇસ્રાએલીઓના સૈન્યની વચ્ચે આવી ઉભા રહ્યાં. પણ ઇસ્રાએલી લોકો માંટે પ્રકાશ હતો. એટલે આખી રાત મિસરની સેના અંધકારને કારણે ઇસ્રાએલીઓ પાસે આવી ન શકી.

20 And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.

21 મૂસાએ પોતાનો હાથ લાલ સમુદ્ર ઉપર લંબાવ્યો, એટલે યહોવાએ આખી રાત પૂર્વ તરફથી ભારે પવન ફૂંકાવીને સમુદ્રને પાછો હઠાવ્યો, તેથી તેના પાણીના બે ભાગ પડી ગયા. અને સમુદ્રની જગ્યાએ સૂકી જમીન બનાવી હતી.

21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

22 ઇસ્રાએલના લોકો સૂકી જમીન પર ચાલીને સમુદ્રમાંથી પાર ગયા. ઇસ્રાએલીઓની ડાબી અને જમણી બાજુએ પાણીની ભીત બની ગઈ હતી.

22 And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

23 અને મિસરીઓ તેમની પાછળ પડયા. ફારુનના બધા જ રથો, ઘોડાઓ અને ઘોડેસવારો તેમની પાછળ તેઓ સમુદ્રની વચ્ચે પહોંચી ગયા.

23 And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.

24 પછી પ્રભાતના પ્રથમ પહોરમાં વાદળ અને અગ્નિના સ્તંભમાંથી યહોવાએ મિસરીઓના સૈન્ય પર દૃષ્ટિપાત કરીને તેમના પર હુમલો કરી તેમનો પરાજય કર્યો.

24 And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the LORD looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians,

25 યહોવાએ તેમના રથનાં પૈડાં જમીનમાં એવા ખુંપાવી દીધાં કે માંડ માંડ ફરતાં હતા. આથી તેઓ બૂમ પાડવા લાગ્યા, “આ તો યહોવા ઇસ્રાએલીઓને પક્ષે આપણી સામે લડી રહ્યાં છે. ચાલો, આપણે પાછા ફરીએ.”

25 And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the LORD fighteth for them against the Egyptians.

26 પછી યહોવાએ મૂસાને કહ્યું, “હવે તું તારો હાથ સમુદ્ર ઉપર લંબાવ. જેથી મિસરવાસીઓ પર, તેમના રથો પર અને તેમના ઘોડેસવારો પર પાછાં પાણી ફરી વળે.”

26 And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.

27 એટલે દિવસ બરાબર શરૂ થાય તે પહેલાં મૂસાએ સમુદ્ર ઉપર હાથ લાંબો કર્યો અને સવાર થતાં જ સમુદ્ર પહેલાં જેવો હતો તેવો પાછો થઈ ગયો. મિસરવાસીઓએ સમુદ્રમાં નાસભાગ કરવા માંડી અને યહોવાએ સમુદ્રમાં વચ્ચોવચ્ચ તેમનો ઘાણ કાઢી નાખ્યો, સૌને ડુબાડી દીધા.

27 And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.

28 સમુદ્રના પાણીએ પાછાં વળીને, રથોને, ઘોડેસવારોને અને ઇસ્રાએલીઓનો પીછો પકડી સમુદ્રમાં ઘસી ગયેલા ફારુનના સમગ્ર સૈન્યને ડુબાડી દીધું. તેઓમાંથી એક પણ બચી શકયો નહિ.

28 And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.

29 પરંતુ ઇસ્રાએલના લોકો સમુદ્રની વચ્ચેથી સૂકી જમીન પર થઈને ચાલ્યા ગયા હતા. અને પાણીની ભીંત તેમની ડાબી અને જમણી બાજુએ થઈ ગઈ હતી.

29 But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

30 આ રીતે તે દિવસે યહોવાએ ઇસ્રાએલીઓને મિસરીઓના હાથમાંથી બચાવી લીધા. અને ઇસ્રાએલીઓએ મિસરીઓને સમુદ્ર કિનારે મૃત હાલતમાં પડેલા જોયા.

30 Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.

31 અને યહોવાએ મિસરીઓ વિરુધ્ધ જે પરાક્રમ કર્યું હતું તે જોઈને તેઓ ગભરાઈ ગયા અને યહોવા પર અને તેના સેવક મૂસા પર તેમને વિશ્વાસ બેઠો.

31 And Israel saw that great work which the LORD did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the LORD, and believed the LORD, and his servant Moses.

નિર્ગમન અધ્યાય ૧૫ (Exodus 15

1 પછી મૂસાએ અને ઇસ્રાએલના લોકોએ યહોવાના માંનમાં આ ગીત ગાયું:“હું યહોવાના માંનમાં ગાયન કરીશ, એણે મહાન વિજય પ્રાપ્ત કર્યો! સાગરની અંદર કઈક અશ્વોના અસવારને ડુબાડયાં,

1 Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.

2 દેવ માંરું સાર્મથ્ય છે; મને જેણે ઉગાર્યો, હું આ ગીતમાં એની સ્તુતિ કરું. એ જ માંરો દેવ છે અને હું એના ગુણગાન ગાઉ. તે માંરા પિતાનો દેવ છે. હું સન્માંન કરું છું. હું એનાં યશગાન ગાઉં.

2 The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

3 યહોવા તો યોદ્ધા છે, જેનું યહોવા નામ છે.

3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.

4 ફારુનનાં રથો અને સૈન્ય, જેણે લાલ સમુદ્રમાં ફેંકી દીધાં; ફારુનના વીર સરદારને સમુદ્રમાં ડુબાડી દીઘા.

4 Pharaoh’s chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea.

5 પથ્થરની જેમ સાગરની નીચે પહોચ્યા, સાગરમાં જળનિધિઓ ઉપર ફરી વળ્યાં.

5 The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone.

6 યહોવા! તમાંરો જમણો હાથ, પરાક્રમે મહિમાંવાન છે. હે યહોવા! તમાંરા જમણા હાથે શત્રુઓને છિન્ન ભિન્ન કર્યા.

6 Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.

7 તારી શ્રેષ્ઠતાના માંહાત્મ્યથી, જે તારી સામે થયા તેનો નાશ કર્યો. તારા ક્રોધે તેમને ઘાસના પૂળાની જેમ બાળી નાખ્યા.

7 And in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which consumed them as stubble.

8 યહોવા, તેં ક્રોધથી ફૂકેલા પવનથી ઊભા ઢગલા થઈ ગયા સાગરજળ. મોજાઓ જે હતા ઉછળતા અને વહેતા ઊભા અધવચ ભીત થઈ; સાગરની જેમ પાતાળની વચ્ચે; તે સમયે સાગરજળ ભેગા થયા.

8 And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as an heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea.

9 શત્રુ મનમાં બબડે છે, ‘હું પકડીશ પાછળ પડી, અને હું તેમનું ધન સધળુ લઈશ. હું બધું જ માંરી તરવાર વડે લઈ જઈશ. હું માંરે માંટે બધુંજ રાખીશ.’

9 The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.

10 પરંતુ યહોવા! એક માંત્ર પ્રબળ ફૂંક લગાવીને તમે મધદરિયે, સમાંવી લીઘા. પ્રચંડ મહા જળરાશિમાં, સૌ સીસાની જેમ ડુબ્યા.

10 Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters.

11 હે યહોવા, કોણ છે તમાંરા જેવો બીજો દેવ? છે કોણ તમાંરા જેવું પરમપવિત્ર મહિમાંવાન? તમાંરા જેવા ચમત્કાર કોણ કરી શકે? સ્તોત્રોમાં ભયજનક પરાક્રમ કરનાર, કોણ છે?

11 Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

12 પૃથ્વી તેઓને તત્કાળ ગળી ગઈ, જયાં તેં કેવળ જમણો હાથ ઊંચો કર્યો.

12 Thou stretchedst out thy right hand, the earth swallowed them.

13 યહોવા, તમે તમાંરા લોકોને છોડાવ્યા, તમાંરા પ્રેમ અને કરુણાથી તમે એમને તમાંરા બાહુબળના પરાક્રમે; તમાંરા પવિત્ર રોચક ધામમાં લઈ આવ્યા.

13 Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation.

14 પ્રજા આ સાંભળી કંપીને ગભરાઈ, સહુ પલેશેથવાસીઓ ભયથી ગભરાય છે.

14 The people shall hear, and be afraid: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina.

15 અદોમના સરદારો તે સમયે ભયભીત થયા, મોઆબના શક્તિશાળી અને પરાક્રમી પુરુષો ધ્રૂજે છે; એ બધાં કનાનવાસીઓ પણ હિંમત હારે; માંથાં પર ભયના ઓળા ભારે ઊતરતાં જોઈ,

15 Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed; the mighty men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away.

16 તેઓ ઉપર ભય અને ત્રાસ આવી પડયા, તમાંરા બાહુબળે સ્તબ્ધ બની પથ્થર જેવા થયા, અને તું જ છોડાવી લાવ્યો, ઊભા એટલામાં; એ ‘યહોવા’ સમૂહમાં તારી પ્રજા ચાલી જાય.

16 Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be as still as a stone; till thy people pass over, O LORD, till the people pass over, which thou hast purchased.

17 જયાં તમાંરો આવાસ છે, લોકોને એ પર્વત પર તમાંરી પાસે લઈ જાય; જે જગ્યા તમે સિંહાસન માંટે તૈયાર કરી ત્યાં તેમને વસવાટ કરવા દેશો. હે માંલિક, ત્યાં તમે મંદિર તમાંરું બાંધશો!

17 Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O LORD, which thy hands have established.

18 યહોવા, તમાંરું રાજ સદાસર્વકાળ અમર તપશે.”

18 The LORD shall reign for ever and ever.

19 હા, ખરેખર આમ બન્યું, જ્યારે ફારુનના ઘોડા, રથો અને ઘોડેસવારોએ સમુદ્રમાં સાથે પ્રવેશ કર્યો, ત્યારે યહોવાએ તેમના પર સમુદ્રના પાણી પાછાં વાળીને તેઓ પર ફેરવી વાળ્યાં; પરંતુ ઇસ્રાએલના લોકો સમુદ્ર મધ્યે થઈને સૂકી જમીન પર ચાલ્યા.

19 For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and the LORD brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea.

20 પછી હારુનની બહેન મરિયમ પ્રબોધિકાએ ખંજરી હાથમાં લીધી અને તમાંમ સ્ત્રીઓ તેમની પાછળ પાછળ ખંજરીઓ લઈને નાચવા લાગી. મરિયમે અને સ્ત્રીઓએ નાચગાન શરૂ કર્યો.

20 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.

21 મરિયમ તેમને ગવડાવતી હતી:“આપો આપો યહોવાને માંન, ગાઓ યહોવાના મહિમાં-ગાન, એનો વિજય છે કેવો મહાન! એની ફતેહ છે મહિમાંવાન, ડુબાડયા સમુદ્રને પેટાળ, એનાં ઘોડોને અસવાર.”ઇસ્રાએલપુત્રો અરણ્યમાં જાય છે

21 And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.

22 પછી મૂસા ઇસ્રાએલના લોકોને રાતા સમુદ્રથી આગળ લઈ ગયો. અને તેઓ ત્યાંથી નીકળીને શૂરના અરણ્યમાં ગયા; તેઓ ત્રણ દિવસ અરણ્યમાં ચાલ્યા. છતાં પાણી ન મળ્યાં.

22 So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.

23 પછી તેઓ ‘માંરાહ’ નામની જગ્યાએ આવી પહોંચ્યા પણ ત્યાંના પાણી પણ ના પી શક્યા, કારણ કે તે કડવા હતા. એને લીધે આ જગ્યાનું નામ ‘માંરાહ’ પડયું.

23 And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.

24 પછી તે બધા લોકોએ મૂસાની વિરુદ્ધ બબડાટ કરતાં કહ્યું કે, “આપણે પીશું શું?”

24 And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?

25 એટલે મૂસાએ યહોવાને પોકાર કર્યો એટલે યહોવાએ તેને ઝાડનું એક થડ બતાવ્યું. પછી મૂસાએ તે પાણીમાં નાખ્યું અને પાણી મીઠું થઈ ગયું.ત્યાં દેવે લોકોને ન્યાય કર્યો તથા એક વિધિ તથા એક નિયમ ઠરાવ્યો. અને ત્યાંજ તેમની કસોટી કરી.

25 And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,

26 યહોવાએ કહ્યું, “તમે લોકો તમાંરા દેવની યહોવાની વાણી ધ્યાનપૂર્વક સાંભળશો, અને તેની નજરમાં જે સારું હોય તે કરશો. અને તેની આજ્ઞાઓ માંથે ચઢાવશો. અને માંરા બધા કાનૂનોનું પાલન કરશો તો મેં મિસરીઓ ઉપર જે રોગો મોકલ્યા હતા તેમાંનો કોઈ તમાંરા ઉપર મોકલીશ નહિ. કારણ કે હું યહોવા તમાંરા રોગોનો કરનાર છું. તમને સાજા હરનાર છું.”

26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.

27 પછી તે લોકો એલીમ આવી પહોંચ્યા, ત્યાં બાર પાણીના ઝરા હતા અને 70 ખજૂરીઓ ઝાડ હતાં, તેથી પાણીની નજીક તેઓએ પડાવ નાખ્યો.

27 And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.

Proverbs 24

1 દુર્જનોની ઇર્ષ્યા કરીશ નહિ કે તેમની સાથે રહેવાની ઇચ્છા સેવીશ નહિ.

1 Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.

2 કારણ, તેનાં મન હિંસાના વિચારો કરે છે અને તેમના મોઢેથી ઉપદ્રવની વાણી નીકળે છે.

2 For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.

3 આત્મિક જ્ઞાન વડે ઘર બંધાય છે; બુદ્ધિથી તે સ્થિર થાય છે.

3 Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:

4 અને વિદ્યા વડે તેના ઓરડા બધી જ જાતની મૂલ્યવાન અને સુખદાયક વસ્તુઓથી ભરાય છે.

4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

5 શરીરબળ કરતાં બુદ્ધિબળ સારું, આત્મિક જ્ઞાની વ્યકિત શકિતશાળી વ્યકિત કરતાં વધારે મહાન છે.

5 A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.

6 કુશળ યોજનાથી યુદ્ધ જીતાય છે, અને અનેક સલાહકારોથી વિજય નિશ્ચિત બને છે.

6 For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.

7 ડહાપણ મૂરખના ગજા બહારની વસ્તુ છે, તેથી તે જાહેર સભામાં પોતાનું મોં ખોલી શકતો નથી.

7 Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.

8 જે ભૂંડુ કરવા માટે યુકિતઓ રચે છે, તે લોકોમાં ઉપદ્રવી માણસ તરીકે ઓળખાય છે.

8 He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.

9 મૂર્ખ પાપી યોજનાઓ ઘડ્યા કરે છે, લોકો જે  બડાઇ હાંકે છે તેને ધિક્કારે છે.

9 The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.

10 જો તું સંકટ આવતાં હિંમત હારીશ તો નબળો છે.

10 If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

11 જેને મોત માટે ઘસડી જતા હોય તેને છોડાવ, જે હત્યા થવા માટે જઇ રહ્યા હોય તેને ઉગારી લે.

11 If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;

12 જો તું કહે કે, “અમે તો એ જાણતા નહોતા,” તો જે અંત:કરણ ચકાસે છે તે શું જાણતો નથી? અને જે તારા જીવનનો રક્ષક છે તે શું જાણતો નથી? અને તે પ્રત્યેક વ્યકિતને તેમનાં કર્મ પ્રમાણે ફળ નહિ આપશે શું?

12 If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?

13 મારા દીકરા, મધ ખા; તે ગુણકારી છે, એનો સ્વાદ મીઠો છે.

13 My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste:

14 જાણો કે આત્મિકજ્ઞાન જ તમારા જીવન માટે સારૂં છે; જો તું તેને પ્રાપ્ત કરે તો તારું ભાવિ ઉજ્જવળ છે, તારી આશા વ્યર્થ નહિ જાય.

14 So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.

15 હે દુષ્ટ માણસ, સજ્જનનાં ઘર આગળ લાગ જોઇ બેસી રહીશ નહિ, તેના ઘર પર આક્રમણ કરીશ નહિ.

15 Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:

16 કારણકે, સજ્જન સાત વાર પડશે તોયે પાછો ઊભો થશે, પણ દુર્જન વિપત્તિ આવતાં ભાંગી પડે છે, પાયમાલ થઇ જાય છે.

16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

17 તારા દુશ્મનની પડતી જોઇને હરખાઇશ નહિ, અને તે પાયમાલ થાય ત્યારે રાજી ન થઇશ;

17 Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:

18 નહિ તો યહોવા એ જોશે અને નારાજ થશે, અને તેના ઉપરથી પોતાનો રોષ પાછો ખેંચી લેશે.

18 Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

19 દુષ્કર્મી ઉપર ગુસ્સે થતો નહિ અને દુર્જનની ઇર્ષ્યા કરતો નહિ.

19 Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked:

20 કારણકે, દુર્જનને કોઇ ભાવિ નથી, તેનો દીવો હોલવાઇ જશે,

20 For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.

21 મારા દીકરા, યહોવાથી અને રાજાથી ડરીને ચાલજે, બળવાખોરો સાથે કશો સંબંધ રાખીશ નહિ;

21 My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change:

22 કારણ, તેમના પર અચાનક આફત આવી પડશે, અને કોને ખબર છે કે બંને કેવી પાયમાલી ભોગવશે?

22 For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?

23 આ આત્મિકજ્ઞાનીઓના વચન છે કે ન્યાયમાં પક્ષપાત બતાવવો તે યોગ્ય નથી.

23 These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.

24 ગુનેગારને ધર્મી ઠરાવનારને લોકો શાપ દેશે, પ્રજા તેને ઠપકો આપશે.

24 He that saith unto the wicked, Thou are righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:

25 પણ જેઓ દોષીને ઠપકો આપશે તેમનું ભલું થશે. તેમના પર આશીર્વાદ ઊતરશે.

25 But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.

26 સાચો જવાબ મૈત્રીભર્યા ચુંબન જેવો છે.

26 Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer.

27 તારું કામ કર, જમીન ખેડ, અને પછી તારું ઘર બાંધ.

27 Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house.

28 કારણ વગર તારા પડોશી વિરૂદ્ધ સાક્ષી પૂરીશ નહિ, તારે મોઢે તેની વિરૂદ્ધ ખોટું બોલીશ નહિ.

28 Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive not with thy lips.

29 એવું ના કહીશ કે, “એણે મારી સાથે જેવો વર્તાવ કર્યો છે તેવો જ હું એની સાથે રાખીશ, એણે જે કર્યુ છે તેને હું પાછું વાળી દઇશ.

29 Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.

30 હું આળસુ વ્યકિતના ખેતરમાંથી જઇને તથા મૂઢ માણસની દ્રાક્ષાવાડી પાસેથી પસાર થતો હતો.

30 I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;

31 ત્યારે મેં જોયું તો બધે ઝાંખરા ઊગી નીકળ્યાં હતાં. જમીન કાંટાથી છવાઇ ગઇ હતી. અને પથ્થરની વાડ તૂટી પડી હતી.

31 And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.

32 એ જોઇને મેં ઉડો વિચાર કર્યો, એ ઉપરથી હું શીખ્યો કે,

32 Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.

33 થોડું ઊંઘો, થોડું ઘોરો, હાથ જોડીને થોડો આરામ કરો.

33 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:

34 એમ કરવાથી તારી દરિદ્રતા લૂંટારાની જેમ તથા હથિયારધારી યોદ્ધાની જેમ કંગાલાવસ્થા આવી પહોંચશે.

34 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.
